Introduction
In parts of the world, new city foundations and large-scale urban expansions are still booming, while in Europe, with its already high degree of urbanization, more cautious interventions in the urban structure are on the agenda. With the help of partly permanent, partly temporary interventions, attempts are being made to meet the complex requirements of a changing modern society. The interdisciplinary cooperation of partners from different fields such as culture, architecture and business, and the participation of citizens and initiatives play a special role.
