Task

Taking the Schumacher Quartier Tegel as test site, the students explored the development of socially inclusive quarters from an urban design perspective in order to find the right mixture for a lively and growing neighbourhood and to intelligently implement new typologies. They analysed questions such as: what degree of urban density is desirable in housing and how can a successful combination of variable housing and other functions be achieved? A mix of housing and working, an innovative ground floor design and the city of short distances were the objectives of their proposals.

What if..
