Date: Friday, 5 June 2015

Introduction

How was it possible through progressive urban planning and architecture to transform Colombia’s second largest city from a war- and crime-ridden place to a prospered and liveable metropolis? To celebrate and inaugurate the exhibition, “Medellín: Topography of Knowledge”, ANCB introduced the city’s recent history in the company of main actors and local experts. Bringing the topic of the exhibition closer to home, the symposium contextualized main themes to local issues and ANCB’s ongoing research initiative Mobilising the Periphery, which focuses on the challenges of peripheries and emerging urban structures worldwide.
