Introduction
The guest of this edition of What’s Cooking?, Kristin Lazarova (she/her), is a Berlin-based architect and city maker. Kristin designs urban spaces and researches climate-sensitive urban design. Previously, she built up the network office of Urbane Praxis e.V. (2021–2025), an intermediary between civic initiatives, administration and politics; coordinated the Learnscapes programme of Floating e.V. (2022–2023); and worked for various architecture offices in Stuttgart, Zurich, Paris and Berlin. She is part of the alumni network of Urbane Liga, an alliance of young city makers.
Her guest, Sveta Gorlatova (they/them), is a queer-feminist researcher and co-founder of the Feminist Spaces Collective. Based in Berlin since 2023, the independent initiative explores the intersections of environmental, spatial and social justice and feminism in urban contexts. They work in an anti-sexist, anti-imperialist and anti-capitalist way to unlearn oppressive modes of living and city-making. Through workshops, urban interventions and public events, they engage diverse communities in exploring gender-sensitive design, anti-racist and decolonial urban research, and feminist participatory methods.
Kristin and Sveta connect queer-feminist and climate-sensitive urban practices in an informal conversation about collective appropriation and performative manifestations in space.

About What’s Cooking
What’s Cooking? brings together conversations and fresh perspectives from beyond the architectural status quo in an informal setting. The series explores space, design and new ways of thinking about cities.
The format is conceived as a kitchen-style conversation — experimental, convivial and shared. What’s Cooking? brings together designers, architects, artists and practitioners from diverse professional and social contexts for short inputs, unexpected perspectives and open exchanges. Each event features one protagonist, who invites a guest from another discipline, sparking dialogue across architecture, design, science, culture and politics.
