Little Utopias in Big Spaces
Using creative mapping methods in fieldwork in and around Berlin’s Kulturforum, this design studio investigates how big urban spaces, buildings and monuments can exercise power, impose behaviours and narratives, and in some instances, also alienate the human. Framing City
Students continue to explore the Framing City methodology evolved in previous studios here. Sequences of methods will transfer the observations and impressions of the students about Berlin from mapping through to interventions. The Kulturforum is the focus of this year’s studio.
